    Black Ops Multiplayer Details

Okay kids! Today's phrase of the day is Black Ops. Can you say Black Ops? Bla, khops. Very good.

Treyarch community manager, Josh Olin, has written up a post on the ever helpful PlayStation.blog, detailing some of the lesser known facts about Call of Duty: Black Ops

Most pressing; the addition of split-screen online multiplayer. Sweet! You can log in as a guest under any profile and immediately start blowing stuff up. The guest will be able to gain rain, earn unlocks, the whole nine. Unfortunately, all guest progress is lost when the player signs out. Bummer.

Also of note is the Custom Games Editor, which will allow you to fine tune the parameters of any custom game you create; time limit, weapon set, perks, gear, and on. When you're done creating your very own boring ass custom game, you'll be able to drop it in a file share, where your friends and the anonymous community alike can ridicule how terrible your decisions are. Hooray!

Make sure you get the lowdown in full at the PlayStation.blog.

Platinum Games Working on a Multiplayer Title

Recent favorite of mine Platinum Games just teased their next project, a multiplayer game. I know this may not seem like much news, but think about it. Platinum has developed some of the truly fun and unique games of recent memory, such as MadWorld, Bayonetta, and the upcoming Vanquish, but they have never implemented multiplayer in any of their releases. That shows that unlike some other developers, Platinum Games is doing their duty to make the best single player experiences possible, without dividing their attention with a half-baked multiplayer throw-in.

In an interview with NowGamer, Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba states "We haven’t officially announced it yet, but we have a big multiplayer title that we’re working on right now. There are many different projects running internally, but please look out for the announcement."

Sweet. If the track record is worth anything, this multiplayer project is going to be an over-the-top, balls to the wall orgy of awesome. Even if it's just an online deathmatch version of Vanquish, count me in!

    Left 4 Dead Space 2

EA's multiplayer reveal for Dead Space 2 looks pretty good, if not familiar. It's basically Left 4 Dead's multiplayer to a T. Remeber that mutation where gameplay was nothing but special infected versus the four survivors? Yeah, that's pretty much Dead Space 2's multiplayer.

You'll play as a band of Isaacs also known as the engineers, and face off against a collective of Necromorphs, such as the agile, close-range pouncing type, the long-ranged noxious ooze spitting type, and the portly, mid-ranged vomit type. Seem familiar? Of course not. It's not a knock, the L4D multiplayer was great fun with a band of friends, with the added gore and Dead Space's feel and story, engineers vs. necromorphs should be a blast. The objective based versus component will retain many of the gameplay intricacies from the campaign mode, so you wont feel gimped trying to take down a pack of player controlled necromorphs.

We've been assured that there will be several multiplayer game types, meaning hopefully we'll see some free-for-all deathmatches where engineers can dismember engineers. Make sure you check out GameTrailers TV for the full rundown of DS2's multi.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Gushes Over Itself

Ubisoft has released another killer Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer trailer. This tells you, in quotes, how awesome it's own multiplayer is. Can't argue with it, because it does look good. And like the previous ACB multiplayer trailer, it's very well done. One thing that bothers me, is that assassinations are supposed to be performed quickly, quietly, and mysteriously right? This multiplayer assassinating thing has dudes backflipping, drop kicking, and slitting throats with a flourish in broad day light. Assassination FAIL
